i know what it means but how can i install one without the original cd?

You cannot. If the computer once had an operating system, there may be a restore CD available. If you buy one without an O/S, that explains why it's a bargain.

You can't you have to get a CD in order to install an operating system

Hi, if u don't have the original cd for lets say Windows then just borrow it from some one and use ur product key to install it. If u want u can also download Linux from the distributions website. I hope I helped.

Two options (three if you include piracy): Install a free Linux operating system like Ubuntu or buy a copy of Windows; Windows XP OEM is probably the safest and cheapest option.

LOL, you cant
you need either the original CD or the recovery CD tht came with your PC or laptop
if you dont have it, then you should go back to where you got it from and ask them....weird, though

A license for Windows can be purchased from a retail outlet or from the computer manufacturer that sold you your system. If you have made a Ghost or similar backup image, you can use this to restore your hard drive

you will need to get a windows cd, pop it in your computer and away you go.
