Government by the people for the people is a nice ideal... trouble - or 'weakness'- is that the people are all different and have differing ideas of what they need and what the government ought to do about it.
But, it's worked so far... I think folks just forget sometimes that "the people" can't always agree on what they want or need.

More and more citizens have begun to realize that the parties are exactly what is wrong in Washington. We will not have a government responsive to the people until the party system is destroyed or several more competitive parties emerge. The two party system guarantees bribery and corruption!

Because you vote for someone, or a certain group of people to get the things done you feel this country needs done and then nothing happens. It is one continuous cycle. Our politicians need to be investigated and we need to start over.
