That is the Holiday season.
Check for vacancies ASAP. Hope there are vacancies. You would need to book in advance. If they have any vacancies, that would be the best place -- right in Union Square.
Check the comments of other travelers and some other budget hotels listed here.

I highly recommend checking out hotwire.com. Although I haven't been to SF, I snagged a great deal for a hotel room in Boston -- saved about $75 off of the hotel's lowest published rate. And used it again on a trip to Seattle, scoring a fabulous room at the downtown Westin. When you do a search, the results will show the class of hotel (2-star, 3-star, etc.) and the approximate location. The only drawback is that they won't tell you which hotel until you've confirmed the booking. But, in they initial results list, they will tell you some the hotels that they generally use. So, for the most part, you'll be in a chain-type hotel which tend to be fairly consistent. Have a great trip!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
But yeah... seriously... no. Unless you don't mind sharing a bathroom with tranny crack-whores and their pimps... and even then, probably not. Especially around the end of November (you'll be lucky if anything's still available, honestly).
EDIT: You *can* get in that price range at a hostel, but only if you're willing to go dorm-style.
... San Francisco's an expensive city.

I recommend trying Priceline.com. Put in the quality of hotel you want and the price. If you are too low, try again just raising your bid a little bit.
The only drawback is that you have to take what they give you, and it would be difficult to change the length of your stay if your plans change. However, I have had very good luck using Priceline in cities all around the US.

there is no such ingredient as a miles less high priced lodge in San Francisco and please do no longer stay interior the Tenderloin it somewhat is infested, grimy with druggies prostitutes, and winos. attempt staying outdoors the city in South city or Burlingame basically 10 minutes away an easychronic into the city suitable close to the airport. greater value-effective lodges and you will no longer could pay for parking.
