Sorry to disagree Sandra, but you can have a period while pregnant. Its fairly rare, but it happens. And yes, you should be able to have an accurate reading on the preg. test. The tests meausure the levels of HCG hormone, the pregnancy indicator hormone. If you're pregnant, your body will have higher levels of HCG and it should be detected in the urine.

Can you have a period and be pregnant? I am 13 weeks and my obgyn said its not uncommon to bleed. But... I dont think he meant a full on period for like a week or so... But take a test and let me know!!!

You can be pregnant and still get periods for awhile. But its highly unlikely.
Take a test with first pee in the AM, if neg, and still feeling weird, wait a week. If thats neg, and you STILL feel weird or worse, see your doctor.
