Honestly, at my first glance at the name she sounds old but when I saw the age she had to be someone from a small country town in the middle of nowhere. Who names their kid Goldie on purpose? Only Goldie Hawn gets away with that. If she's thirteen, I'm still seeing overalls. She has a dog. She knows a lot of people in her town and they know her and her family. Maybe goldie is a nickname for her hair color? I don't see ambition, I see just "gettin' along", doing a few chores but spending the rest of her day tromping through town or beside the river catching fish and frogs. Maybe grossing out other girls with worms? Not that she's overly tomboyish, just not afraid of that stuff.
Guess she could be the town vet when she grows up.

Awful! reminds one of Sophie Tucker as famous singer of the last century.
