Do casting directors prefer unusual people with a strange character? Have you got to have something about you, not be the average person?

No. They do not want strange and unusual because most parts do not call for strange and unusual.

They want the person who is right for the part, who can work hard and just do the job they are required to do effectively.

What you have to have is the ability to be someone else convincingly and when required.

NO! Casting directors prefer nice, clean, normal people who have ability and look like the character they are casting.
