How much of life can you really understand by observing? You know just from seeing and hearing. Analyzing everything you get from your surrounding. Society and people? I'm only 21, I guess you can say that this is when I start my journey through life. I'm a very curious observer of what I see and hear. The good, the bad and UGLY. . . I feel there's a lot of UGLY. Too much. I'm an over thinker to the point of my head hurting (cynic as well)The more I listen and learn, the more I feel I know about myself and people. . .but then again how much do I know without actually living it let? Knowledge is power! but life does throw you a curve ball.

So how much can you know and understand about life from what you see and hear? And being young? I just wanna do the best I can.

"Learn from your mistakes, yes. But if you don't need to make any mistakes to learn. Don't make any. . ." -my personal quote.

Success in life is never achieved by those who were afraid to risk failure. We get as much out of life as we are willing to give of ourselves.Look at how many things you have learned just by watching and listening. You learned how to speak by listening to your parents. At first you mimicked sounds ,then words and finally sentences. You learned about comunicating your most basic wants and needs. As you aged your thought patterns and communication skills advanced. When you learned to crawl you found ot your world was larger than you thought.Life is a learning experience.Of course some things we will want to experience first hand......companionship,love, travel, education and career. However some things such as criminal activity, drug use and anti social behaviour most of us will learn about through books, the media, movies etc.Sometimes we can spend too much time trying to answer all of lifes questions and miss out on actually living it. We all have dreams and plans for the future and that is ok but we must remain grounded too. There is a saying "Life is about the journey not the destination"

Very deep indeed.

However, I would not say that knowledge is power...More so that knowledge is empowering. It allows you to make choices.

Take for example your personal quote "Learn from your mistakes, yes. But if you don't need to make any mistakes to learn. Don't make any. . ." If everyone throughout history had adopted this as their guidance for living we would be still living in caves.

Progress is driven by peoples willingness to adopt the Robert the Bruce attitude of "if at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again". And only by adopting such an attitude can you truly gain knowledge.

Anyone can read a book that tells you whether something is possible, but you then only have the knowledge that someone else has tried and failed. Or, that they have tried and been successful and therefore their way must be the best way to do any given thing.

Only by trying yourself and very probably making mistakes along the way can you be completely satisfied that you have the total knowledge whether something is possible or not, and whether the established way is the best way of doing something.

Similarly by observing life...... If you watched me trying to jump across a stream and I didn't make it and got wet. By observing you could say I'd made a mistake by trying and therefore you had the knowledge that if you jump the stream and don't clear it you're going to get wet. You don't however, have the absolute knowledge that it is impossible to clear the stream and shorten your journey, becasue you accepted the "knowledge" you gained from watching me and didn't try for yourself, when in every probability you might have made it across

i believe that knowledge in itself is power. because those who have more knowledge than others usually tend to succeed more.
now in days we are in a world were many not all job require some sort of prereq to get hired.
i think occasionally ppl learn from their mistakes but there are those who just don’t pay attention to the signs and warnings that have already been showing to them before. some are just either to naive or in denial of what is to come.

i think that you don’t necessarily have to know everything to get by in life. many mistakes can be avoided in life, with like hunches and bad feelings it just takes someone smart to pay attention to them.

what i believe is "don’t believe anything you hear , and only HALF of what you see. "

i think that if you worry so much about doing well that you will only harm your chances of actually excelling in life. because you will become so caught up and stressed out about it that you wont be able to focus right

take each day at a time and live life to the best of your ability!

Observation is the key to just about everything relavent. Your job for example. Lawyer, Doctor, Detective, Phsychologist and many more occupations like these require observation. Now to learn how to not make mistakes is impossible but you can learn how to not make costly mistakes by making them.

Knowledge is indeed power. However you need a lot of money and support to put into action.
