You can often find 'Bonsai' trees at any mall around Christmas time. Many garden centers carry them year round. Look in the yellow pages of your phone book to see if there are any companies listed under 'Bonsai'.

I would buy one of the Ortho Garden books on growing 'Bonsai' as well as the plant. The book will tell you which plants are suitable for training as 'Bonsai' if your sister wants to grow her own.

Some of the trees that are suitable are junipers, Japanese maple, cedars, cypress, and some flowering shrubs.

The other day I passed a person selling 'Bonsai' on the side of the road. So watch for those kind of suppliers as well.

It's "Bonsai".

Go visit your local florist or garden shop. If they don't have any, I'm sure they will know who does.
