The Beatles
First thing that came to mind
In my opinio, they kind of define the 60's because they were music for the 60's and their music was about the war which was also a big part of thr 60's and toward Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Revolver their music started to get hippy-ish and they were really drugged out (also 60's). So I think the Beatles basically define the 60's
