using only "natural" factors, the predicted rise in temperature in the 20th centuray was .16 degrees celsius. the observed rise was .74 degrees celsius. skeptics claim that the warming may be due to some other unknown factor, but we are still waiting for them to clue us in on just what that unknown factor is. the only factor that could explain global warming is the rise in co2, a greenhouse gas. of course, we can't be sure that it is as powerful a greenhouse gas that people claim. but we know co2 levels are on the rise, and we know the temperature is increasing dramatically (faster than ever before in history). no other known factor involved in the warming has undergone such transformation -- milankovitch cycles are, well, just that: cyclical. the only way to explain the warming is that co2 has caused it.

if you're still skeptic, if you answer the question, i want you to answer one thing, or else don't answer at all: what has caused this unprecedented warming? and give me data to support your claim.

Since not one climate model is capable of reproducing the global temperature changes indicated by the Vostok ice core data, I am not at all surprised that they are also unable to accurately predict the rise in temperature over the course of the 20th century. When you find a climate model that can reproduce historical planetary temperatures, ask me again. For now, I'll attribute it to Martian death rays since that theory seems as viable as any of yours.

the skeptics seem to have little use for supporting their stance. Easier to simply blame it all on some undefined left wing power grab. They fail even to explain what the "power grab" amounts to.

Humans have screwed up the earth. And to assuage the guilt, we deny it.

Trash, toxins, CO, CO2, CH4, drills, fire, metal, plastic, road, pesticides, fertilizers, over-hunting, engines, boats, planes, cars, houses, timber, farms...we take what doesn't belong to us, and we use as if it does.
