Yes! He is a person who challenged the system and risked his life for his beliefs. He acted both proactively (and reactively) because he knew something was wrong with the way things were. When Clarisse (I think it was) asked him if he was happy, he knew not-so-deep inside he wasn't. She was the catalyst that got it all going.
