"Into the Out of" & "To the Vanishing Point" by Alan Dean Foster

Almost anything by Dean Koontz, but especially: The House of Thunder; Shattered; Darkfall; Midnight; The Servants of Twilight; The Bad Place; Demon Seed; Dragon Tears; The FunHouse; Mr. Murder.

My favorite of his is "Lightening"- but its not really scary.
