Seen them live 21 times since 1973 when they were playing halls and bars around Toronto.
The best shows were at Toronto's Massey Hall during a few nights in 1975. I was at the 1st two shows, and the 'Sweet Memories' of those concerts will be etched into the 'Hemispheres' of my brain forever!
In the 70's I remember seeing them open, and headline concerts with other popular Canadian bands like Symphonic Slam, Max Webster, FM, Dillinger, etc.
I have always preferred the material released between their 1st self titled album, and 'Moving Pictures'. So around '74-'81. I could never really get into them after that, though they did have their moments I suppose.
The sad thing is when you see them live today, they seem to deliver these great songs from the 70's all wrapped up into one as a medley. I guess when you have such a vast catalog of music, this might be the end result? Though I think most Rush fans would agree with me when I say that I would much rather see them do the medley thing with their 80's and 90's (or not play them at all) songs, though they are much shorter for the most part.
Editing classics such as '2112' is sacrilege!
Most of your favorite Rush songs are mine as well.
Here's some others I really enjoy:
The Necromancer
Xanadu
The Twilight Zone
Before and After
YYZ
Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres
The Fountain of Lamneth
Rivendell
Cinderella Man
Natural Science
A Passage to Bangkok
2112
By-Tor & The Snow Dog
Red Barchetta
And many many more!
I think that 'Caress of Steel' is one of my favorite albums, and is perhaps the most overlooked in their repertoire.
Maybe the short tunes 'I think I'm Going Bald' and 'Lakeside Park' turned people off, I'm not sure. But the epic tracks 'The Necromancer' and 'The Fountain of Lamneth' are Rush at their very best in my opinion.
Like yourself, I'm also a huge fan of progressive rock, and have been collecting vinyl passionately for over 40 years.
Though back in the 70's, Rush were never referred to as 'Progressive Rock'. That's a tag that might have transpired much later, and due to the internet? Come to think of it, Pink Floyd weren't referred to as Progressive rock back then either, but that's what I hear them referred to as these days.
When I think of Progressive Rock, bands like King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Yes, Camel, PFM, Van der Graaf Generator, Soft Machine, Hatfield and the North, etc come to mind.
If you like prog, I highly recommend the aforementioned bands, as they are some of the better known of the prog genre.

I was into other things in life than music and am not familiar with much after 'Signals', but even by then, they were moving away from what I liked best about them. Their first four albums were great. 'Something for Nothing' are words I live by.

As far as prog goes, I was more into the earlier supergroups Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Yes.

they're magnificent. I observed them play at Downsview Park in Toronto approximately 5 years in the past and that they are surprising stay. i don't be attentive to what my usual music is, regardless of the undeniable fact that it could the two be nearer to the middle or Spirit of radio. as much as i like Rush, those 2 specially stand out maximum of fascinated by me.

2112 (all parts) I just love putting on the album 2112 and just listening to the whole thing, but 2112 the song... WOW.
Fly By Night (I just love the way Geddy sings "good night" don't know why)
Subdivisions (puts my morbid fear of suburbs into song form)
The Spirit of Radio (I love the allusion to Sounds of Silence)
The Trees (short but beautiful)
and several others.......
