What you are feeling is actualy quite normal. A lot of people feel this way, they just choose not to speak about it. I used to feel the same way when I was in high school. I was an A/B student (Some C's.) and I played tennis and golf for the school and I cheered my sophmore year. I had a lot of friends and my family was pretty cool and very loving and I pretty much got whatever I asked for from my parents. (Car, clothes, vacations, great curfew) and I seem to have smoe pretty nice boyfriends, but this NEVER made me feel completely satisfied. I would talk to friends and they acted as if they didnt get it. To start with, you have to start to tell youself, "Im so gratefull.". Im not saying your not. "Just say it out loud." Go and look at your parents and think to yourself "You know there are a lot of children out there who do not have parents or are very mistreated by theirs and mine are right here with me supporting me and loving me. Im so grateful for that." Then the list goes on. You have to really practice this for weeks and you hnestly will start to feel better. I even went to see a psychatrist for about two months and that helped too.
You'll find what youre looking for. Also you may want to try to join a youth group. I did that as well. When God became a large part of life, I felt a lot better was well.

Good Luck and Big HUGS from NC!

Look at it this way you have a place to call home when many do not. You have a family when some are all alone. You have friends when some don't have one. You are accepted when others are rejected. You have food to eat when others don't know if that simple bowl of rice that they ate today is their last meal. Think about it in that way and you are blessed with so many good things. I would just be more aware of people around you. Welcome them when they are alone, help them even when they do not ask. Be a friend to those who need a friend.

Volunteer your time in your community. Help out at the Humane Society or maybe work with Habitat for Humanity or help serve meals at the homeless shelter...

You do have a lot... and therefore you have a lot to be thankful for.... but - and I'm a melancholy writer-type, too - taking some time out to go and give of yourself to the community really helps keep a healthy balance in your life. You don't have to carry any trappings of popularity, outward beauty, or academic genius to brighten up a child's day by reading to them.

I don't know how old you are, but check into some of the volunteer opportunities in your community. Many of them allow you to help out if you are at least 16.

Also, give yourself ample time to write your poetry... in fact, I would encourage you to begin journaling if you haven't started already. Over time, you will gain insights to yourself.

"To know what is enough."
They go on saying "then you will live a long life"

or "To see the world in a grain of sand."
If that is true, I have a galaxy in my hand.
How can I be satisfied with that?

Maybe you need to find your spritual side?...nothing that you have from what you metioned makes you happy, you need God and believe that no matter where you are, he is with you. *
