you went temporarily blind

you have had psychiatric episodes of confused states.

you have been going crazy recently and your starting to think your superman.

You didn't know it was law to hand in the homework

You thought the homework was optional

I've made it a habit to not do my homework. I've spent most of my years in school avoiding doing my homework. So, I didn't really "forget" to do my homework, per se. I just chose not to do it.
I went to YA to see if I could drum up a good excuse to tell you how I "forgot" my homework, but, since I'm choosing to screw my life up by avoiding hard work anyway, I figured I'd go ahead and tell you the truth.

**EDIT**
If you're not a bad student, then you don't need to "fish" for "something good to say to a mad teacher."

Is asking for an extenstion out of the question? I'm a teacher, when students come up to me before or after class and ask me for an extentsion on something and don't abuse the opportunity I give it to them. Teachers, believe it or not, want you to succeed, lying unfortunately might be a temporary solution, but doing your homework more consistantly will gain you points with your teacher:) Good luck!

One time I was in the hospital all night. I told the teacher I had gotten home at 2am but came to class any ways because I didn't want to fall behind. She felt so bad she excused me from the homework all together.

Say to your teacher. Mr/Ms ?
I have a big surprise for you today. I have actually completed all of my homework, I did it on my own and worked very, very hard for a change. I tried my best to turn in a quality assignment and I hope you will be impressed with how hard I'm now going to try in your class for the rest of the semester (year?).

Surprise your teacher. Do your homework and have it ready to hand in when it's called for. There are no excuses that are equal to that - or as effective in calming a really mad teacher.

Umm... I didn't do my homework because I hate homework. As a matter of fact, I hate school. I'm a lazy good for nothing and I don't plan on changing. Give me the worst grade since I deserve it. It really won't matter, because I'm planning on quitting school anyhow to become a professional homeless bum!

1. "I couldn't do it; i was too busy studying quantum physics."

2. "I would have, but an alien spaceship crashed in my backyard and i had to spend the whole night trying to contact the FBI."

3. Hand in a blank sheet, and say, "I DID, do it, but i didn't have any pens at my house. all i could find was invisible ink."

4. "I did it, but my house was attacked by an angry mob of goats, and you know how goats are; they eat EVERYTHING, including paper."

Or, if those answers are too bizarre, you could go for a more believable story that works every time:
5. "I had it saved on my computer's hard drive, but my computer got a nasty virus and I won't be able to get it fixed until next week. Could I have an extension?"

You may think this is weird, but try being honest. Just tell him/her you forgot about it because you were bombarded with so many other things that day. He/She may be more forgiving than you think. I had to do this the other day. I am so glad my teacher listened to me. He gave me an extension and a scolding, but I was still able to do my homework.

here's a suggestion: do your homework!! then when she asks for it you'll have it. duh.

also, if you get in good standing with your teacher (by doing your homework regularly), she'll probably be more forgiving if you do truly have a good reason not to have done it.
