Government is not allowed to over run (that is why we have State legislature). Bush had everything in place, ready to go. He was waiting for the okay from the State. The Mayor was the one who told Government that he had it under control (he had a bunch of buses that could have taken people out, instead he let them sit there and get washed away). Why is it that Mississippi is all cleaned up after the storm? Maybe because there isn't any corruption there and the money alloted goes to the correct places.
Before you start whining, maybe instead of re-electing the "problem" you should stand up and fix the "problem". I am speaking of that poor of an excuse of a Mayor New Orleans has. Quit blaming people. Take the bull by the reins and start fixing! New Orleans is a BEAUTIFUL City and the people are WONDERFUL! They deserve waaaaay better than what they are settleing for.
And AMNESTY'S comment can't count, she can't even spell the President's name.

The problem in New Orleans was the local government failed.
70% of the National Guard was still at home, but was not mobilized.
School busses were not used.
They let the police run away.
The way it is supposed to work is that the county or parish has a plan for evacuation. What the county cannot do, the State assists with. What the State cannot do, then finally the Federal Government comes in.
If the county and state levels have no plan to begin with, there is nothing for the Federal Government to plug into, so it takes more time.
The Federal Government is not supposed to do the entire plan. If you rely on the Federal Government, it is so large, it takes a week. It would not have mattered if it was Bush in there, or Clinton. The Federal Government is slow.
Also, Mississippi was able to handle things at the local level first. Look how much faster their response was.

Exactly what should have he done? I don't like Bush, but you provide no solutions, only rhetoric and bile. What are the "stars" going to do? Do a photo-op with some sandbags? Republicans are racist bigstes, what does that mean anyway? Use some periods in your sentences.
If you want to equalize the divide between rich and poor, vote for Ron Paul, who can actually fix the monetary system, and who can gut some of the overhead of our government, leaving more available for the poor. We can't afford any, ANY socialistic programs at the moment, we are providing all that overseas, for countries that don't give two shi+'s about us.

Sorry but Jorge Bush is being a butt kisser! He doesn't give a crap about what Americans want of need. Otherwise our borders would be secure, amnesty would never have been brought up and he would have told Mexico to "go pound sand!"
Republicans are NOT racist! Stop lumping a large group with an offensive and erroneous term!
BTW, I voted for Jorge twice since the Democrat was so awful!

Mississippi handled it better because the situation was better--less water...
The whole thing, at EVERY level was a joke. BUT, now, after 2 years...why hasn't Bush helped them? Oh, wait....I forgot, he is spending the money overseas... yeah.. that's it!

LOL. You couldn't get another government issued credit card could you? Just get a job and get over it. People are sick of hearing you whine about the feds when in fact it was your own governor that failed you.
