I just got it friday and im concerned because i dont want the ring of death

Yes, its normal. I had a scare with this too, just take a 15 minute break every 1 1/2 hours or so and it should be fine.

the 360 does have a history of overheating, the best thing to do is keep it in an area where it can air out properly, don't use it to watch dvds unneeded wear, other than that cross your fingers and hope for the best

its fine as long as there is nothing behind it to stop the heat from getting away and i dont think overheating has anything to do with the red ring of death. thats a differnt problem

Yes and No, the only thing I've ever heard of happening when it gets hot in the back, is overheating...

it is normal for it to get hot in the back because that is where the hot air gets blown out.
