It used to be fitted sheets until a young up-start showed me how to do it.
Place the four corners of the fitted sheet over one hand....be neat and make sure you turn the corner inside-out so that all seams match up and make the edges meet smoothly. Then, simply fold it as you would any other sheet. This up-start also showed me how to then fold the top sheet, lay it on top of the partially folded fitted sheet, fold the pillow cases and lay them on the pack, then fold the whole thing over and store.
That way, everything is together in one neat stack.

Folding sheets. It's become a big issue with me, I am thinking of just rolling them up now. enough already.Finding lost socks. And having to do the ironing after you have have taken everything off the line.

I am so with you on that one. Especially the fitted bottom sheet. I have a sister and a girl friend, who both know how
to fold them to perfection, by starting with their hands in two
of the sheet pockets. I have never gotten the knack of how
to fold it right. And I too, end up halfway wadding it, out of
frustration LOL. After all, who's going in your linen cupboard
and check how you fold your sheets anyway LOL? So long as
they are crisp and clean when they go on the bed, I don't
worry about the wrinkles, which pull out anyway once they go
onto the mattress. That works for me! LOL

I'm with goldwing, my socks are all the same and so are my hubbies. As far as sheets go, I take them off the bed, wash, dry and put right back on. This gives the bed a chance to "air" and I don't bother with folding. My mother used to iron sheets and pillow cases back when they were 100% cotton.
Right!

let me give you my handy hints for laundry:
1)buy only white socks, all the same size, type...don't fold them, just throw them in a drawer.
2) underwear (see rule one)
3) sheets: the trick here is to buy tight fitting sheets, then just take them from the dryer, throw them in a closet, when you put them on the bed, they stretch out the wrinkels and la voila! perfect sheets (well the top sheets may take some getting used to, but I've done it, you can to!
4) tee shirts and tank tops: See rule number 3..buy them tight, throw them in a drawer, the wrinkles will stretch out when you put them on
5) Pants have a certain, lived in look if they are wrinkled...they make a statement that you are brave enough to do the latest fashion thing...wrinkles. (let others think they are, once again, behind the times with their slick, ironed look). IF asked, just say, oh...ironed pants are soooo 5 minutes ago.
6) dogs...the only thing I feel should be folded when coming out of the washing machine....it is a rough job, but someone has to do it.
I am sending these hints to Dear Heloise..so don't try to steal my housekeeping rules...they are mine, developed over years and years of research.
Love and peace, Goldwing

The fitted bottom sheets is the one the bugs me the most. I usually just fold in half ,give it a good shake, fold in half again ,then roll it up real quick and throw it in the basket.

Folding clothes doesn't bother me. Those fitted sheets used to drive me crazy, until I learned how to do it. Now I can do it all by myself. First you fold it in half. then you tuck the corners into each other, then you fold again and tuck all four corners inside each other. then you fold in the sides and fold again. So easy even a child can do it! LOL

Hi Slk,....... I don't even have to stop and think about my answer for a minute......I HATE folding fitted sheets. I never have found an easy way to do it and if I expect one to look decent, it takes me forever to fold it. Otherwise I just hide this end under that end and fold this one under that one and stuff it in the linen closet. Lol edit: I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one......

Queen flat sheets. I found a way to fold fitted sheets that's easy, even Queens: end corners into top corners, flap it smooth, then all four into one. Then smoothing that that, laying on the washer, the corners into the middle, where the sheet will be as flat as it'll get.
Socks, pin the heels together with a safety pin before you wash 'em.
