Only advise I can give is keep switching sides... maybe get yourself a body pillow or a preggy pillow... Also something that comforts me more is that my side of the bed is against the wall,so I prop a pillow on the wall behind me so I am not actually lying on my hip.. but on my butt cheek a bit... of course its only good for half the time.. but hey..better than nothing! Here's some websites for Preggy pillows :P http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?fromSection=Search%3AHomepage&search_constraint=0&search_query=pregnant+pillow&ic=24_0

Hi there...I have started this exact thing...I'm about 25 weeks along now, and I thought It was just me.
I suppose its the quickly added weight, cuz I never had issues like this before. I liked the other's answers, I do just what they say, keep switching sides every time (6-7) I wake up. I too use lots of pillows and have a pregnancy pillow too. Nothing really works, I'm just downright uncomfortable at night.
One person did mention the glutes hurting cuz they are overcompensating etc.....Ya, I got that big time...In fact I had my boyfriend rub em this morning it was so bad. uGH....well 3 1/2 more months to go...If u figure a miracle fix, let me know!

Have you tried putting a doubled up pillow between your knees? That would help me to keep both my legs in line with my hips when I was on my side.
hehehehe....I also did the same thing as the person above me.

When you wake up with hip pain on your left, switch to your right side. What you're experiencing is very common.
If you can - go for a prenatal massage and have them do a real workup on your glutes. Those muscles are tightening up to compensate for your loosening joints.
Also, try soaking in nice warm (not too hot) baths, and sleeping with a body pillow is a great help.

have you tried a body pillow so you can lay on your side but also a little tilted towards the stomach to take the pressure off of your hips? you may have to experiment a little bit. try pillows in different places.
good luck!

I have the same issue. I toss and turn a lot but with the right placement of pillows I can usually get comfortable. One slightly under my belly, one between my legs, one at my head and one at my back.
My poor husband hasn't had a pillow in months!

I put one pillow betweeen my knees and it helps relive some of the pressure. I usually toss & turn anyways due to not being able to get comfy!! Try the pillow. It definitly helped me!!
