category, and want to ask something without any sense of offend anyone..but want sincere replies.
Do you think that our category has lost or is lossing its main charecteristics? If yes......tell me why you think that.
Thanks
Note..
As I know you'll want to know what i think and I am so honest in my replies, I have to say that in my personal opinion, it's not anymore the category we used to enjoy, nor the one we helped to grow up.
When we came here, we did it with a target, and it was to let another pple know about Lebanon and our idiosyncrasy but without lossing our humour. Where have that things gone?
Please......dont tell me that are still here, bcoz we all know that is not true.
I know that some of you wont like what I'm saying, but anyways I need to tell what i think.

Yes, it lost them. I agree with you
I used to come here some months ago, and it was a nice and friendly place.
I have left for some time, when some trolls started to report everyone.
I came back a month ago, with a different account, and found that here is not as it used to be.
Many of you didnt like what I asked some days ago about the silly questions that are posted here now,and today I saw that some of you talk about fun when talk about that questions.
Some of you are confusing funny with silly.
Fun, we all like it when is nice.
Who do like silly things?

Hmmm...well, I haven't been around all that long, but the only thing I think is different is that some people haven't been able to come around quite as much.
I know that some people feel that this category should only have questions about Lebanon in it, and to an extent, I agree...but I certainly don't think there is anything wrong with the regulars being playful with each other. It makes the category feel more like family.

lol
i honestly agree with u one hundred percent, and i would like to add i don't think this all happened recently, because around the end of the summer things started seeming a bit out of the ordinary. When i had joined at first, for about the first two months i really enjoyed this place and i loved coming here lol, after awhile idk those feelings faded off..
what might be contributing to this, would most likely be old old regulars, people that u have gotten to know and have gotten used to, suddenly disappeared or seldomly get on.
i think what would really help, is if there was a way to get the old regulars back on.
and i also totally agree with all of the answers above me.
especially with hot coco puff's loool it looks well thought out

I think that it has lost a bit of fun because many personalities are no longer coming on here like they used to. I guess it's due to thing that happen off-line, and let's not forget the trolls who just make this place no fun sometimes. I guess we forget that we're talking to real people, not just avitar pictures and funny nicknames. It really used to be fun, a tight knit community, then the bad apples came along and caused some divisions. People don't talk to each other any more, people avoid this category because they don't want to interact with some people. It's really infantile, if you stop to think about it. We used to be able to move mountains, now we just walk around them. There are many people who deserve apologies, forgiveness and many people who need to grow up. Like the rash of reporting and people getting locked out of their accounts, that's ridiculous. We're all supposed to support eachother and be like an extended family. We used to be that way. And we were all planning (real or not) to meet in Lebanon for a big union and meet eachother in person. Then the hezzies came and the political radicals and childish thumbs down and reporting and blocking and all of that. We are just as stupid as those making war in our beautiful Lebanon. I accept that I make comments that I probably shouldn't have and ask questions that get people riled up, I was a bit over confident in my place in this community. I took a leave of absence, changed my name and avitar, them came back. It was only because of the caring of a few that I did. My support group shrunk to an handful. And there was a time when I would have done anything to hop on the first flight I could to Beirut, I really wanted to be with everyone and solidify my freindships. Well, that's never going to happen now. I don't want to continue to talk out of my teezak, because who knows if anything I have just said makes any sense or if anyone gives a falafel sandwich. Uruguay es numero uno.

Well Hallambra, I understand that because we started all this we could feel a sense of ownership towards this category.
But I think that we can't ( and shouldn't) hold on to it as it was for ever.
1- It gets boring and repetitive
2- We have to accept that people move on with their life and new people come on board and these new people are the reason why we decided against moving to a private chat room.
3- New dynamics are created automatically in groups and they make it interesting.
4- We know each other so well now, it's great when someone walks in and we say:" Ok, let's discover this person" knowing well that they must be going: " who the hell is Webby or Hallambra or Aussie...?"

Well , there's no doubt that we miss a number of those who added a certain spark to the category....to name a few Chloe , Fatma , Hasafer , Ismaily, Smutty, Reiko....
Then there are those like yourself who aren't contributing as much as you used to ...
The attraction of the category was the way people bounced off each other ...not just with humour but also more serious topics.
It's impossible to get this back if people aren't contributing regularly because the category loses momentum .... the challenge is for us all to give a bit more to MAKE it happen !
