If they rebuild it, terrorists will just destroy it again. If the Bush administration didn't know about - or participate in - the destruction of the WTC towers, then you have to assume that 'terrorists' targeted the twin towers because it represented the height of American arrogance, superiority, flagrant wastes of money, and our gluttonous appetite for anything financial.
Americans are hated because we represent only 5% of the world's population, yet squander 55% of the world's resources. We drive around in Hummers and SUVs; heat and air condition our homes; conspire to destroy the rain forests so we can eat cheap hamburgers at McDonald's;
over fish the oceans so we can impress clients with $100 sushi dinners at five-star restaurants; build luxury resorts on coastlines that ruin mangrove forests; belch vehicle emissions and factory smoke into the air; drill for oil; mine coal; explore for natural gas; and generally rape the land that provides sustenance for all humans, plants and animals on Earth. We don't consider the land 'sacred' as did native Americans...and we've taught the rest of the world that greed is good. Instead of being responsible stewards of the Earth, we have chosen to destroy it.
