Most colleges only allow 18 hrs per semester. I feel like I can do more than that and want to graduate ASAP. Would it be legal/accepted if I took a full semester at the college in my city and half of a semester at the University?
Or... does this somehow go against regulations...
(I'm in the state of Texas) - Thanks to all answers in advance.

And why not? You say I can't combine the credits fromt the two colleges and get one degree? Well, the college is a 2 yr (of which I still have a few classes I can take there) and the University is the one I'll be transferring to for my degree...

You have to get permission from your school to take credits from another school and they don't allways accept all the credits from schools. That is why people loose credits when they transfer. Also all schools require you to take your core classes at the school you are trying to gradate from. They only allow you to take general ed classes at another school usually

You can't combine the credit from the two colleges and get one degree - it doesn't work like that.

Are you in college now? I get the feeling you're not. There is a reason most schools don't allow you to take more than a certain number of hours. The work you do outside of class takes up a lot more time than you expect it will. It isn't like a job where you work for 40 hours a week and go home and that's it. The time you spend in class is a small fraction of the time you will spend outside of class studying, researching, writing, etc.

Some schools allow you to apply for a waiver to the semester hour limit. Check with your school for the details if you insist on trying this.

I know a person doing that at one college, because she has a double major. Talk to a guidence counsellor and see if it's allowed at your college.
