My daughter is on Similac Alimentum and it is pretty expensive. I have found lots of it on ebay that pretty cheap. So would you buy formula off of ebay?

Ive been doing EBay for years and have only been burned once. Check out the persons feedback, that is usually a good predictor of an honest seller. I would buy formula from EBay, but only from a seller with high ratings.

I also have sold Formula on ebay before.

I would if the seller told the expiration date and I made sure it was unopened. I have sold formula on ebay before. Most of the time though even if the auction ends with a good price the shipping is crazy. People over charge for shipping on ebay. If you do bid on formula, check the seller's rating and read feedback comments.

I was given a full case of formula, but did not need it because my baby was breastfed. I sold it on eBay. The cans were clean, unopened, and within the expiration date. They were kept in my kitchen. I saw lots of formula being sold and got lots of bids on my stuff. I do not see any problems with buying it online. Most sellers will give a description of the product. If you are worried about it being expired or where they stored it, ask them. Always look at their feedback. Good luck.

I wouldn't my daughter was on an expensive formula also that had to be special ordered through a pharmacy. If you have a prescription for the formula (and yes they can write prescriptions for formula) then you should be able to get it on WIC and cost shouldn't be an issue for them. Also sometimes if you have a nurse or someone call than you may be able to get a sample case or two. My daughter was able to get 3 cases of her special formula given to her from the manufacturer.

No. You do not know what the expiration date is and if the cans have been sitting in the hot sun, or locked up in a hot car building up bacteria. Also, they are cheap for a reason - either old or stolen.

I know it stinks to pay a small fortune for baby formula. My daughter was on expensive stuff too.

Well, personally I wouldn't do it. But--as long as you can make sure its not expired, and not near expiring, and sealed shut, why not? I know that stores, at least in my state, don't let you return formula. You can't return it because they're worried you got it on WIC, and they don't want you to cash in on the state. So I understand why there might be an abundant supply of leftovers out there.

As tempting as it is, and while some people selling maybe parents who no longer need the formula, you never know for sure. There are too many crazy people out there that could try to harm others

no way! you never know people these days there are some pretty sick people out there and there is no way to tell on the internet whether some sicko put a needle in it with poison. As expensive as it is do what is best for your baby, and just stick to where you have been buying it.

Yes. It is sealed after all and I cannot imagine that anyone sells formula that is old.
