Which trumped up scientific consensus would you be referring to? The lie that is global warming? Or what causes it rather? Please do tell

PS. justagrandma, can you possibly let your ignorance shine any brighter??? Evolution is not a proven theory, theres still way to many holes in it. Stem cell research continues on, just not with my tax money, Birth Control people take (if more took it thered be less out of wedlock), Abstinence, well your a grandmother so obviously you didn't abstain, and global warming, ofcourse its happening, mars is warmer too. Obviously you haven't leanred much in life if your a grandma!

We only disagree when the consensus is wrong. During the 1980's and in some quarters to this day, the consensus is that everyone is at risk of getting AIDS, intelligent people(read Conservatives) know better. During most of thee 20th century and in some quarters to this day, the consensus is that Darwin's theory of evolution represents fact. Intelligent people know that that Victorian era myth has no basis in fact at all. Beginning with r. Carson's Silent Spring, the consensus is that DDT is a poisonous chemical that causes cancer, intelligent people know you can eat the stuff with no ill effects. You see unlike our liberal counterparts who use junk science and the consensus of the uninformed to promote policies that give power to the state over the individual, and allows their friends and allies to profit, we Conservatives keep an open mind, wait for the facts to be presented and go with the truth rather than accept things as an article of faith.

No
I take it what is called "consensus" when comes to man-made global warming is your point.
When you have scientists coming out saying they disagree with the idea of man-made global warming. When we have errors being pointed out in "Inconvenient Truth". That when people like see a real scientific debate vice the political rants that are going.

Just because science says so are we always to blindly to follow it.

Take the case of genetically modifed food is to be rejected without question right?

I look at the information I am given and decide when it comes to science not because what is popular at the moment.

No they do not.
And not they do not.

I believe that the Bible is a book written by man with Gods help. Notice I did say man. I am sure some mistakes were made. Man just cannot help it.

I believe that Global warming is a fact. I am just not sure if we actually know why this is occuring. Has anyone thought that it might just be the natural progression of nature?

Lets not pretend that they appreciate science.
Evolution, stem cell research, birth control, abstinence, global warming, are all scientifically based, adding emotional garbage is a specialty of Conservatives.
It seems to be the addition of Fundamentalists to political power that has left the scientific community powerless.
Its religion at its worst, that's why we do not have a history of welcoming the mixing up of religion and politics. At least until now. When eight out of ten Republican contenders can feel free to get up on stage and say they do not believe in the evolution of man.
And they are proud of it.
These are intelligent men, and there is no way, with one or two exceptions that I believe that they believe that.
When you talk about pandering to the voters, well, that's about the purist pandering you can get.
Its an appeal to the simplest souls in the audience.

I will admit total skepticism when so-called scientific consensus is presented as a political matter, by politicians.

The only way to keep the polar bears from drowning is to vote for a Democrat.

Science used to be almost conservative some time ago in some respects. Science is still conservative in the fact that the process is still the same.

I understand about the global warming issue. i am conservative and believe in global warming. however, science is the reason im against abortion, which is far more important than global warming now. we abort 43 million babies a year worldwide, yeah its that serious. did you know the consensus of human embryologists is that life starts when the chromozomes and autosomes combine (conception)? yeah, there is a bunch the corrupt politicians dont want to tell us. science doesnt solve everything, but it can sure help.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND STOP UNNECESSARY ABORTIONS!

If by scientific consensus you mean the global warming issue, there is scientific consensus on both sides of that debate.

As my nun use to say, " It is better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt." We are one people, together we can do many good things. Leave your hatred for really bad things. Peace
