It has everything to do with low self esteem and society placing more value on someone for their looks than what really counts. Some girls grow out of it...others become beauty queens.

They want people, guys especially, to notice they're trying to look pretty. When the guy fails to notice, they're reduced to asking.

Obvious they want you to notice. If you don't say they are pretty then you can say they are fat.. but I am sure you will get mixed responses. Lol! Well one thing you don't ever do is tell them they are fat. Hhaha

Because they want you to tell them that they do. Sometimes we ask because we might be feeling particularly down on ourselves or maybe we just don't think you appreciate us and want to know if our thoughts are right. Mostly though we just want to hear that we are. :-)

because sometimes they aren't sure if they are and they just want someone to reassure them that they are.
