Mussolini said the the alliance between Germany and Italy would be the "Axis on which the world would turn."

The first two members of the alliance, Germany and Italy, signed a pact known as the Rome-Berlin Axis. This is the axis that DB refers to. Japan later joined the pact, making it the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis.

The axis of the Earth is along lines of longitude, not latitude.

no the japes Hitler and Italian Mussolini where kind of teamed up so they called them the 3 axis
