Can't connect to wireless or wired network with OS X?

For some reason I can't get on the internet in OS X? The wireless network shows up and it says its connected, but it wont work. When I plug in an ethernet cable in it does the same thing. If I boot in Windows they both work.

Be sure that you make the changes in your system preferences and network to the type of connection you are using. Make sure that your choice is highlighted in green and at the top of the list.
It may also depend on what Router you are using and are you using 10 as a starting number or 192.168. It may very well require you to reset your system shut the computer off, Pull the Power Adapter from your Modem and your Router.
Wait 5 minutes and then plug in the ISP's MODEM and wait 1 minute. Plug in your ROUTER and again waait 1 minute. Now restart your computer and click Safari and see if it restarts.
