She needs to go to the ER. She could possibly die from that if not fixed medically. Don't look online, just take her in. Reason I say that is because she could have a ruptured arterie now, or an infected needle with whatever infected on it. That could kill her also. She could lose the use of that hand, or have a bad reaction flow through her whole blood stream killing her. That's not something you play with. What the heck was she thinking??? If a doctor is not accessible, you could probably take some sort of antibiotic like penicillian (WHICH CAN KILL SOME PEOPLE IF ALLERGIC) , but without a doctors advice, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT. AGAIN, DON"T LOOK ONLINE FOR HELP - TAKE HER TO THE ER!

Also, the blue rist shows internal bleeding. Something happened to her artery, and she needs to have a professional medic look at it so she won't lose her ability to use her hand. Hot water is NOT GOOD for internal bleeding. You need ICE. Hot water makes blood flow free'r. Ice helps clot it. GET HER ON ICE, and TAKE HER TO THE ER! They HAVE to see her, and will bill u later if you can't pay immediately.

From the description, it sounds as if the vein was punctured and blood is seeping out of it and collecting under the skin. They call this a hematoma.

Heat after the injury will make this worse because it causes the vessels to dilate and thus cause increased bleeding. Cold and gentle compression is the way to go.

Hematomas can have various complications such as infection so it's good to get this checked by a doctor. If there is numbness to the hand or fingers OR if there is paleness or bluish discoloration to the hand or fingers OR if it's difficult or painful to move the fingers OR if there is fever or chills OR if the hematoma keeps getting bigger then a trip to the ER ASAP is in order.

Have her soak her hand/wrist in a pan of really warm/hot water for 20-30 mins (keep it warm by adding hot) then have her rotate the wrist while in the warm/hot water for a couple of mins.
The blue area is blood that will take time for the skin tissues to absorb, much like a bruise.
Something tells me she won't be doing this again. Will she?

this occurs to maximum everyone while they decrease their palms ... the blood rushes to the extremities and motives greater tension interior the veins, for that reason they protrude greater. completely general.
