A store creidt was givin eight years ago some money was paid
but the intrest was more then the amount givin .

If you or your representative do not show up for a scheduled hearing, you automatically loose. Judgment against whoever didn't show.

Normally, in Small Claims court, if one of the parties doe's not show up, the decision of the court goes against them and claims are awarded or denied.

You are probably past the statute of limitations. If someone is threatening to sue you, they are probably close to the statute and trying to scare you into making a payment so they get another 8 years (or however long is it in your state).

In addition if they threaten to sue you past the statute they are in violation of the FDCPA and YOU could sue THEM for $1000. They sound stupid, I would start recording them...

They are probably just bluffing...if it is under $1000 they probably won't even bother taking you to court...too much work

no this is a civil matter not a criminal crime case.
