We did not realize that the realator did not leave us a copy of the contract until the 3 months was almost over. We have not been happy with this realator or the company she represents. The last conversation we had with her she informed us that the contract was for six months. We have bought and sold 11 homes over the years and we have never signed a 6 mo. contract. She still has not offered to bring us our copy of the contract even after we told her she had failed to leave our copy. Are we stuck with this realator for 3 more months?

call her manager right away and tell him/her that you did NOT receive copies of your Listing Agreement. They have copies of everything that you signed. Also tell the manager that you are not happy with her and have a list of reasons why. Some companies like CB (used to, don't know if they still have) have a list of things that they guarantee that your realtor will do and if they don't do one of the things on the list, i.e. ads, hold opens, pictures etc. you can get out of the contract. Most large companies will let you out of the contract because they don't want any negativity about their company out in the open.
If you have further problems,, when they want to show your home, you can come up with excuses why it can't be viewed and eventually they will just cancel your contract, but call the manager at once and get those copies!! Good luck..

That's usually a contract between you and your Realtor. The realtor, obviously wants the contract for the longest period of time, but I would not recommend signing a listing contract of over 3 months. The contract can always be renewed if you like the realtor, but if the realtor isn't doing anything to sell your home, then you will need the option of getting a new realtor after the first three months.
