South Texas has a rather termperate climate. Corpus Christi is usually nice in the winters and thus brings in a large number of "Winter Texans". The Record low for December is -11 C, average temperatures are low 9 C - high 20 C, record high for December is 33 C. January is very similar, Record low -10 C, average temperatures 8C - 19 C, record high for January 33 C. Corpus is always quite breezy to windy, however, so even in the mild temperatures a jacket or coat is often in order. If you travel to San Antonio, despite what another responder said, the winters are usually quite mild there also, though last year we had a few days of freezing weather.

Enjoy your trip to Texas!

Corpus is almost tropical in climate. No sweates necessary (well maybe at night)! Since you are English you will think it is quite hot. You may need sunblock. The sun is pretty strong in Texas, even in the winter months (it is so far south). In addition, the sun is out almost 11 hours, even in January. Texas is a big state and the climates vary; Dallas and the panhandle can be cold in January, Austin and San Antonio can be cld to, but Corpus and south Texas remain mild.
In sum, the average high is 19°C and low is about 8°C .

I dislike when people who are not from COrpus answer questions about Corpus. Right now it is about 50 degrees. In december and January the weather will likey be a bit colder than it is now. In the 40's. It is NOT humid here in the WINTER. Other than that; it will be beautiful. I hope u enjoy urself!!

Don't expect snow....

It will be cool at night, low temps in the 40's (fahrenheit) and dayly highs could be in the 60's or 70's.

It will be humid.

"Record highs for December range up to 88 degrees, while the "record" lows are in the 20-25 degree range.

depending on your personal comfort, I'd suggest a light jacket, (a couple of sweaters just in case) and maybe a real coat stuck in a closet for luck.

I'm linking to a Natonal Weather Service chart for average temperatures for Corpus in December...
