Go to an Urgent care center or and ER ASAP... She likely needs antibiotics, possible debreidment and a tetnus shot... Don't delay

You didn't say how long or wide or deep the cut is, which might have helped some.

The puss you describe... might have been puss... or might have been serum from white blood cells trying to help her heal. Cheerleading the next morning was not the best thing to do. The foot is traumatized by the cut in the first place, and by cheerleading in the 2nd place, putting too much stress on an injury.

Dave did a good thing. Dad did a good thing... cleaning, putting on neosporin, soaking it in Epsom Salt bath are all good things. It it hurts so much she's crying, then you have 2 choices:
1) ice pack it for a couple of hours
2) take her to the doctor

If the wound site is red and angry, with rays of red extending out from it, TAKE HER TO THE ER DOCTOR! That's sign of a bad infection setting in. That would be a bad sign.

If it's very painful, either ice pack or take her to a walk-in clinic, which costs less than the Emergency Room. If it's so painful she cannot walk, she might have something like a greenstick fracture and need medical attention soon.

Yeah your on the right track. Is it still hurting?
Soak it at 4-5 times today in Epsom salt and water and than elevate between the times. Do not let her do a lot of running around today.
If the soaking and neosporin doesn't help take local swelling and redness away you might need more power full antibiotics. If it swells or becomes more red and feverish quickly than you may need to go to the emergency room. Other wise call a Doctor monday.

Try elevating the foot today, the elevation will help the swelling and pain. If it still looks and feels bad tomorrow definitely go the Doctor. Looking bad as far as puss, fever and pain. It will still hurt a little but it should be better.

Yes please get her to the ER or Urgent Care immediatly. She can end up septic or with Osteomyelitis which is an infection in the bone. Both are very serious. Does she have fever and/or chills? If she does that is a sure sign that the infection is in her blood stram, if not you want to prevent that by getting her medical attention, she needs antibotics. Please do not wait and longer and go. ALSO NEVER, NEVER SOAK AN OPEN WOUND IN EPSOM SALT

Um, you are doing the right thing, but it sounds like the infection is getting pretty serious. You don't have to take to the emergency quite yet, it would be a good idea though, but if you see any red streaks that are moving in the direction of the heart, then you need to get her to the emergencie room, and FAST!!!

With all of this MRSA going around, I wouldn't mess around. I would take her to the doc. It could very well have gotten staph into it. Don't ever soak an open would in Epsom salt either by the way. Good luck to you!

Probably better get it checked out. If she scraped it on metal she may need a shot. Better safe than sorry. A medical center will be cheaper than a hospital visit, just find one that carries your insurance.

It may need anti-biotics as it could be infected.

Stop messing around and get to a doctor or emergency room before it gets worse.

She may need to go to the ER now. It sounds like it needs a little more attention than neosporin or peroxide. She may need a tetanus shot. At least call her doctor.

Take her to the doctor... He'll know what to do...
If she REALLY thinks she has to go to the E.R. then let her go but mayb it would not be too serious and the doctor can do something...
Good Luck Hope She Feels Better
