Today just my breaks locked up before I hit traffic good thing they did or we wouldn't be here. That is a close enough encounter for me! My car was towed home so all is semi ok now.

Yes! My tags were expired on my Bronco. I went to go pull out onto the one-lane road that goes up to where I live in the mountains and I spotted a cop in the rear view mirror! So, I immediately turned into a person's driveway who I didn't even know and carried on a conversation with the woman who was out pruning her roses, explaining why I was there! After about 20 minutes, I drove to the end of her driveway and the cop was sitting on the side of the road waiting for me to pull out! So, I turned the opposite direction and went the back way. When I went to pull out onto the main road, there he was behind me AGAIN! I punched the gas, slid around the corner and into a friends driveway which was long and curvy, just in time to see the cop go speeding past on the road I'd just turned off of! My neighbor told me they heard the entire conversation between the COP and dispatch on their scanner! (I learned this because I nearly hit their vehicle when turned in front of them to get into the other neighbor's driveway and went up to their house to apologize and explain!) Had I been caught, I would have had my vehicle towed plus enormous fines!

depends on what the close encounter is...I met up with some vicious turkeys delivering phone books...needless to say I got back in the car.....what?.....they were chasing me!
