Yes the family should get Iggy back. There are enough animals that do not have homes. Its not like Ellen gave Iggy to a bad family.

The person above was wrong when he stated that the family refused to fill out an application. In fact, the family filled out an on-line application which is where the rescue agency got their address. The family did not agree to dricve to the other city on a Sunday afternoon, turn over their dog to someone they'd never met and had no knowledge of, before filling out an in-store application, but they did not lay out attitude. (If you listen to the rescue agency's lawyer, he carefully says "they refused to come in and fill out an application" -- he thinks if he misleads people while arguably saying something technically accurate it somehow makes him less guilty of misleading people.)
Ellen and the rescue agency both made serious errors in judgment, but the family did not.
So in answer to your question, No, Ellen should not get the dog back, but the agency should not have grabbed the dog from the family rather than actually trying to figure out if the dog was happy and in a good place.

There are rules to follow when adopting. All parties involved broke the rules. They did not do as they were told to do. They had the option to go there and sign the papers but ED and the other family refused. THAT is why the dog was taken. Had they signed the papers they could have kept the dog. The agency did nothing wrong. They tried to keep the dog where it was yet they were met with uncooperative attitudes by ED and the other adoptive family. What everyone is hearing and complaining about is not the entire truth.

They've already given the dog to another family. She, nor the kids are going to get the dog back. I love Ellen, too so don't get me wrong here, but she violated the contract. It's that simple and the pet shop didn't give her special treatment. It's unfortunate for the kids, but they can get another dog. They only had the dog for like 2 weeks. It's not like it was 2 years or something.

I think this whole deal is ridiculous. Though I love Ellen and think she is great, she really got too sensitive with this issue.
Now, this company should be sued for just taking the puppy. They should have contacted her and gone over the situation. Because honestly that darn contract was way too long. I truly doubt she read it in its entirety. I know I would not have.

Yes. Then she can stop bawling and making a big spectacle out of it.
