We have lots of mole in the bathroom, the laundry are in the basement has lots of exposed wires and when it rains its comes in the basement, also a spot in the wall bubbled up ( the paint did) it looked very gross my dad says its fungus and its in the house and not able to remove or treat. This is a very old house I guess we were so excited about getting our own place that we didnt pay enough attention like we should of. Anyways I have had it with this place I dont feel safe here for me or my family what can I do? Can I get out of my lease? Can this house be condemed?

Call the city building inspector and have him come out. Your health could be at stake here. Take pictures of everything. then give your landlord a written 30 day notice stating the conditions and that you have let the building inspector know about it too. Make sure you take pictures of your apt so that he knows no damages were done in the apt by you. Let him know you have these pictures and that you expect your security deposit back in full, otherwise you will file in court against him for putting your health at risk and for being a slum lord.
I am a landlord and normally wouldnt talk against other landlords, but landlords like yours make us good ones look very bad.

Thank God, you didn't buy it. It sounds like a nightmare. You have to put in the required amount of notice, I suppose it is the same as an apartment. At least, a 30 day notice, then I guess it will depend if you signed a year's lease, it you did they can get you paid rent there for a year. If, you are on Month to Month, then you should be able to move out with the proper notice of 30 days, in the letter say it is a notice to vacant the premises.

Ask the local building dept or environmental health dept (city/county) to do an inspection. If they find code violations and the landlord doesn't fix them, I would guess that would be grounds to break the lease.
