lmao... and in movies violence is way more acceptable than sex in the US, one little boobie shot and the rating goes up thrice... i mean cursing god forbid, and sex just isn't normal, but killing people, that's all good.

That's a good question. I think it's because the media still uses violence to teach moral lessons. For example, shows like Law and Order, Cold Case and CSI use violence to separate the good from the bad. Or even in cartoons there are "good" superheros that use violence as a way to fight the "evil" villains. But then you have senseless violence, such as pranks that I guess don't seem as threatening as bombs, guns, etc.
However, I don't believe there really is such a justification for cursing. Usually, it's just seen as "bad" behavior, with no moral justification. And also I believe it's to keep kids from repeating words and thus it keeps parents from suing media execs. I dunno...Good Q.
