I was in a hospital room and this woman, I believe she was a resident, walks over to me and tries to put an IV in me. She tries it twice on my left arm and twice on my right arm, until my parents say, 'what are you doing?' I was upset but really ill so I did not say anything but then I swear she read my thoughts and looked at me and all I remembet next is her eyes penetrating into my illness (i had a severe case of the stomach flu) my vitals when down for two seconds and i came to it and i realized that she had left after seven tries of sticking the damn iv into my arm. i swear that woman was a demon to this day

In normal hospitals I have had all good experiences. The nurses were caring and reassuring and decent people. The only place I was in danger was when I spent some time in a mental hospital and a guy tried to kill me (another patient) because he thought I was his dead mother. So, stay out of the nut house and you'll be fine!

Telling you scary stories would contribute to your fear.
But, you asked for it.
Because they thought I'd be out for a long time, someone wheeled me into a room that was cold, dark and as large as a living room. The only other things in there were 3 other gurneys with draping over them. I thought I had awakened in a morgue and that I was dead. I got up and walked around, even though I wasn't supposed to get up. I kept calling out and looking for some way to call a nurse. I was in there for 20 minutes before I saw someone. They never did tell me what that place was.
C. :)!!

im a regular at donating blood and not scared with needles or looking at blood. until one time, i was admitted due one sickness where everyday, the docs need my blood sample twice a day. everything was going smoothly until one day, a ninkompoop scrub (trainee doc) was nervous around me and was not sure where to locate my vein, he injected, pumping the syringe and no blood came out. he took out the syringe and injected again several times and still no blood. i was gritting my teeth like hell. finally when the blood came out, there still not enough. obviously he injected the wrong vein! by then, i became dizzy and weak to even kick the stupid scrub ***. bet i would the next time he came. but he never came back after that. guess he knew that i was about to (for real!).
since that experience, i still donate my blood occasionally, but just a bit more nervous than usual. =)

I don't have one, but a friend of mine was in the hospital for a simple procedure and got an infection where the IV was, and they had to dig out most of the infected skin, which left a big gap in her arm.

I almost had my stomach cut open for some sort of intenstinal removal. I went in the hospital to have my knee scoped and the got me mixed up with someone else.
I'm scared of hospitals now, too, but you can't let it paralyze you.

It wasn't so much scarey but painful. I had breast cancer and have had to go to the hospital a LOT over my lifetime. The worst was when they put six needles in my nipple before surgery.....that sucked big time.

My dad got really sick, and we thought he wasn't going to make it. He had a REALLY bad rash all over him, and a REALLY high fever, and it wasn't getting better, and the doctors had no idea either. It was scary! He's all better now though!
