This is my second year being in the local X-mas parade (for winning beauty pageants) and I want to know some ways to decorate and really dress up a convertible (ie. we used white toole, christmas lights, etc. last year)...anyone have ideas or a website where I can find ideas?

I would join the forums at http://www.PlanetChristmas.com and http://www.MyHolidayDisplays.com and ask there.

Planet Christmas has over 5,000 members worldwide and all of them would be eager to give you hints on how to decorate your car.

You will not be spammed for joining and membership is free.

Now, depending on how much you want to spend, whether or not you can tow a generator or not, what resources you have available to you will influence this answer.

Presuming you have a generator, you can purchase a Mr. Christmas sequencer from Lowes, Walmart or otherwise. It will give you 6 circuits up to 1440 watts of power for lights and stuff.

If budget is not an issue, you can upgrade to a programmable Light O Rama system that will allow you to program lights to music. (The Mr. Christmas will not allow you to program the music and you only get their songs). With LOR, you can choose the music, program the songs, and broadcast the music to the passing crowd.

Now, if all you are going to do is wave at the crowd and look pretty, then have a professionally printed sign on the four sides of the car and wreaths hanging above or below them. Simple and elegant. That way, you are not the side event of the car, but the main attraction.
