Thailand, including the capital Bangkok and the islands like Phi Phi where "The Beach" was filmed. Every single person that I know who are travelers have been to Thailand, have nearly lived there, extended stays so long that they actually bought condos there. The effects of the tsunami have already been repaired and folks from all over are there in Thailand, on the beaches, cities, clubs, temples, and your dollar goes very far. Apparently, you basically just pay for a plane ticket and you don't have to bring that much more cash cuz you can live like a king and queen in those villas and condos for around thirty-five to seventy dollars a night, full serviced and all the goods. I say go to Thailand!

Hawaii, the Caribbean, Orlando and other places in Florida, California, Las Vegas, New York City, Colorado. Then there is always Europe. It really just depends on what you like to do to relax and where you are from. I like to go to warm places by the ocean, Destin Florida, or somewhere like that. To just sit by the pool or on the beach and relax with a fruity drink.

Just close your eyes , and point to a map. There's something everywhere , or nearby .
A brief list from here , for example : The Baseball Hall of Fame,US Soccer Hall of Fame, Corning Glass, Cornell Plantations, Fenimore House , the Farmer's Museum, two breweries, Howe Caverns, Glimmerglass Opera, Franklin mountain , for hawk watching, Winery trails ( drink, go to the next one, drink, go to the next one...;D), lots of carousels ( yeah, people travel just for that) , various natural wonders ( "Ithaca is Gorges" ;D) , and lots of windy country roads with fall leaves, covered bridges, and other stuff .
Why would you want to go to the most popular ones , anyway ?Yuck!
" Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded ."

here in the UK , Spain is the most popular destination. Proably because it's cheap to get to and the closest place with a truly hot climate.
I don't understand it though because these people go to resorts that are entirely filled with English tourists and expats, eat English food and drink English beer, only socialise with people from back home and very few locals, why do they even bother going abroad!?
