Totally pagan. The church moved to that date to try and convert the pagans.

Entirely Pagan. Every Christian aspect was stolen from the Pagans by the Christian Church in the Middle Ages as a way to convert them. Even the date is the birthdate of a Pagan god born of a virgin. Scholars both Biblical and secular agree that if the Bible is taken literally, Jesus was without a doubt born in the spring as shepherds in that area never watch their flocks in winter.

That said, everyone has a right to celebrate it as they wish.

I think it's gone secular, actually.

The origins are definiely pagan, but the important thing is that what the holiday represents - celebrating light and life in the darkest and dreariest time of year, celebrating loving, caring, giving, and family - is a universal human concept that does not belong to one religion, or even to religion. It's for everybody.

The only thing originally 'christian' about "christmas' is the name. Everything else, including the 'crucified savior born of a virgin (Mirthra)' was stolen from the pagans. The day should be called Krismas and will eventually be so.
