I have SO many favorites, it is hard to pick just one! OK, I guess it has to be a simple lunch, grilled cheese, thick tomato soup (to dip the sandwich in, of course, the thicker the better) with an ice cold glass of milk on the side. I have been on a many year long quest traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest, hitting diner after diner looking for the best version of this simple lunch. And to date, the best I've found has also been the closest to home! They make their own bread, the soup is homemade, and the cheese is a mix of several different kinds, which they will not tell me because it is a family secret. When I am at home, I add some thick rippled dip chips instead of crackers crumbled into the bowl of soup. OK, I can't leave it there, an alternate is to substitute French onion soup instead of tomato, the traditional kind baked in a bowl of bread in oven with cheese all crusty on top. The only problem with either way is that it takes SO long to make everything from scratch...

I don`t really have comfort food. I would say the nearest to having some ,would. Most likely be biscuits and crisps.
