Well first of all, rollercoasters are safer to ride than a car. There has never been an incident where a rollercoaster has came off the track. There are so many wheels holding the train on that even if one did come loose, there would be no way that the rest would come loose during the same day. Also, each day the park attendents check the ride and tighten all of the bolts on the trains. As for not being so scared, I used to be the same way. Now I love rollercoasters, hence the user name. :P Just walk into the line, sit down, buckle up, and get ready to have an awesome time. There is nothing to be scared of, the butterflies and stomach drops are normal. That's what the hills are for. Your stomach is supposed to feel that way. Just work up the courage and get on one! Have your friends blindfold you or something and take you on the scariest one there. Don't have them take off the blindfold until you are buckled in and ready to go. Once the ride is over you'll see that there's nothing to be scared off and now you would know that because you just conquered the scariest ride at the park!
I really hope this helps you overcome your fears. Wherever your next coaster trip is, try out what I said. It works, that's how I learned to love 'em.

Oh my, I had this fear not too long ago. Ride something small first, like the ferris wheel. Yeah, it may not be a rollar coaster, but it doesn't have a seat belt (most of them don't) and the way it moves kinda freaks you out. Don't worry, you'll be just fine. Then get on something where you know you'll be safe, like one of those where it spins and turns. There was one in Geauga Lake called the Time Warp. Itwas really scary, but fun. Try a water rollar coaster first, if anything at all. They don't go upside down or any of that. They're really fun cause you get wet and all. :]
Then, the biggest rollar coaster. You'll be fine. They are very safe and really fun, I still get chills when I sit on one I ahven't road.
If anything at all, have a friend ride first, then ride with them after they get off. If they're alive, you won't die! :]
I hope I helped! Good luck! ^_^

You just have to force yourself to go on them. Roller coasters are very safe rides. They want you to feel scared of them becasue that is half of the fun of the ride. Incidents happening to the rides are rare and do not happen often at all.

I love certain roller coasters esp. the ones that have big hills/ big drops but don't go upside down. I rode one this summer that goes sideways and upside down while you are laying down and forces all your body weight on the straps holding you in. I kept my eyes closed the hold time and just hoped I would live through it. I hate it and I wouldn't ride it again. If you don't enjoy them, don't worry about it. You are not obligated to ride them. Let yourself off the hook.

Start with smaller roller coasters. Then you should be able to work up to the bigger ones. Do you ever go to Silver Dollar City?

A lot of my friends are like that, and I have one friend in particular that would'nt go near anything but the baby rides. One time when we were at Carowinds we begged her to try a reaal ride, we started slow. And now she loves rollercoasters and not the little kid ones. just start slow and you will too!

This sounds a splash humorous yet while i grew to become into first getting over my worry I rode with my dad and he could count quantity each and every hill each and every time we would bypass over them. It sounds humorous yet I worked and it helped so everytime i bypass on a clean coaster I count quantity the hills. purely save respiratory and don't be scared to admit that your scared. good success!
