I have seen WC used on architectural floor plans. It's usually for small guest bathrooms that only have a toilet and sink.

Americans do not typically use the term "water closet" (and not all have even heard the term before). It's more common in the US for the terms "restroom", "bathroom", and "lavatory" to be used. (Lavatory can be shortened to "lav")

Not in this part of the US (southwest). We usually refer to it as the restroom or the bathroom. Men's room or Women's room.
