just in time is a technique in operation mangement used to reduce costs and increase efficiency , but it is currently used in the goods sector not in service sector , i want to know if it is applicable in the service sector , specifically in hospitales.. and if there are studies in that field , how i can get to them??

Of course you can do this in hospitals with supply items. As to staffing, this is handled through on call staff who are willing to work PRN. They are available to come in on short notice if the need arises and staffing registries are also used to fill unmet needs. Talk to the largest hospitals in your area to see what methods they are using and why.
