Perhaps because most American voters are as stupid as the President they elect.

George Bernard Shaw once said: "Democracy is a form of government that substitutes election by the incompetent many for appointment by the corrupt few." Shaw also said: "Democracy is a device that insures we shall be governed no better than we deserve."
American voters are like sheep being led to slaughter. If some toxic poison blabbermouth tells his 'ditto heads' to vote for a particular person, the 'ditto heads' blindly and stupidly follow, like lemmings into the sea.
Gore Vidal once said: "Apparently a democracy is a place where numerous elections are held at great cost without issues and with interchangeable candidates."
Most voters don't have a clue as to whether they're really 'liberal' of 'conservative'. They wear artificial labels without even understanding the political philosophy behind either dogma. -RKO- 10/21/07

How brainwashed every one must be to believe the president is the one running the show!
Wake up you people!
He always just will be the marionette for all the big business guys controlling the marked and system and the presidents staff is always preparing all the action plans which the business guys nominate and control.
I don’t think the Business guys organizing all action plans and the money would like to have a smart President interfiring with there Business.
You remember the time when you had the smart Presidents they all got killed as your History proofed! Americans are still confused about who killed the good President!
Don't you see who and what is runing the world; its not the President thats for sure!
Then you guys came out with a very smart law saying that Presidents should not be assassinated anymore, because of bad reputation effects!
Smart Guys; then there must have been one more regulation which stays secret and confidential which is " NO MORE SMART PRESIDENT!"
This way he does not need to be assassinated anymore and he will not interfere with are Business anymore!
I hope your top brass is not upset that I give away there manipulation secrets!
What do you think why they love to go after the terrorists the way they do; because it’s big Business for some not because it is criminal what they do!
Then they tell you how much money all the little wars are costing which they use your Taxes ofcause!
But they neve told you how much profit the Business Guys made on the small wars your are paying for! It will be in the Billions!
Did you ever think about it why they never really go after corruption seriously even so it is criminal and they have death penalty on it in most countries because the governments and most Business would end up on death road!
But the manipulation of the public is still working well and you don't believe it how worry they are that we all wake up one day!
In America they still not to worry because Americans believe everything they see on TV and just look at you all how paranoid they made you all about terrorists!
I also have to say it's the public them selfs being manipulated = "keep-ed Stupid" to not seeing the real storey what is ruling the world!
My Logical resold:
1) The Presidents should not be smart thats why he gets paid well!
2) The public should not understand this and has to be permanently manipulated!
3) Only Business and all there money makes all the rules!
4) Laws have to protect big Business People (They called it Mafia before)
5) Government = The Top brass Business Club

Americans are dumb sheep. Living here as an educated person, you see it easily every day. People follow, that's what we're told to do. Anyone who watches the Daily Show knows how stupid Bush is. We could not have elected a worse person. I don't care how horrible Kerry was, he was still better than Bush. Bush is an angry child.
The major reason for his re-election. Christians. This nation has become over run with angry, conservative, right wing Christians that congress can't get anything done. It's not about what's right or wrong in this country anymore. Like you would think it would be right to provide health care to poor sick children, not Bush. That's socialized medicine and that's communism and it's un-American and it will destroy the nation and it's all just neo-conservative republican evangelical bureaucracy.
Televangelists like the 700 club provide tons of money to funds and things that make people like Bush money. The people who vote for Bush are their viewers. Some million or so viewers. The 700 Club promoted Bush, saying that it was Americans duty to vote for him as he was the clear Godly choice. They still to this day support him even after all of the immoral things he's done. Over 70% of Americans claim to be Christian. In a country that saturated by people who blindly follow their leader, how could we not re-elect someone we were told it was our religious duty to elect?
History tends to repeat itself, no matter how horrid or cruel it is.

Look, all politicians are stupid to some extent. They're salesman in a nice suit with hidden agendas. Some play it off well and others just don't have it. Some of the things that Bush has done and said blatantly show his hidden agenda and lack of a decent IQ. He is already known as the worst president of this country and it will take us 20+ years to repair the damage he's done to our international image.-
You can bet on two things here. A democratic controlled house, senate and presidency for the next 8 to 12 years. And a somewhat honorable withdrawal from an unpopular war enacted by a democratic president.

He wasn't elected the first time. Gore had the majority of the popular vote, but Bush's brother and his other contacts fixed the election. You see what happened in his second term. I'll never understand how he was voted in the second time.
