We have had soldiers stationed in Turkey since before my enlistment in the Army in 1976. Our relations with the country have been positive up until recently. We pushed to have them entered in to NATO, Turkey is a key ally to our success in the middle east regardless of where we are or what we are doing.

PKK has been attacking Turkish troops every other day, killing at least 15 every week. Add that to the 30,000 Turks killed by them since 1980. So Kurds want a homeland. So they kill Turks. Does that sound democratic to you?
Turkey has every right to defend its citizens from terrorist attacks. And you, mrs hichefheidi, Turkey is not a 3rd world country without human rights. Get your facts straight.

i support people in EVERY country. there are good and bad people everywhere. let's hope good prevails. and we Americans should not preemptively attack a country and then criticize another for defending themselves. i am against all unnecessary wars but believe turkey has more of a right to invade Iraq to stop the Kurds who are causing them harm than we did to invade for their oil. peace to all in turkey and thank you for your question. it is good to give these boards a more balanced, international slant

I don't know what your rights are in Turkey...I know we here in the US have a right to defend ourselves, but I am not sure that Turkey enjoys the same kinds of freedoms that we have here in the US.
