If so what do you steal?

Food / Clothes / Expensive clothes / Makeup / Jewelery / Expensive Jewelery / Shoes / Expensive Shoes

Have you ever got caught?

How often do you steal?

Why do you do it?

Can't afford to buy anything / Can't afford all of the items on your shopping list / You get a kick out of it / Can't control yourself

Why buy when you can get away with paying nothing?

Just wondering!

Rachelxo11 - If its such a stupid question then why have 3 people starred it as "interesting"? You didn't have to answer this is you felt threatened by the question.

Yeah i stole stuff as a kid...
- Food, Cd's, Jewelery... anything that i thought would be easy to get hold of.
- Yes i did get caught... and that was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. Everybody was starring and it made me feel so small. The manager made me ring my parents and i felt so bad that i had let them down. There's also the fact i got pulled out of another shop because they had only just seen me on CCTV when i had left. I'm glad i did get caught though, otherwise i might still would be doing it to this day!
- I can't remember how often i stole, not very often with the cd's and jewelry... more often with the food...
- why? because it gave me that adrenaline rush, it felt good doing things that you know you shouldn't do. I also felt pressured by my friends into doing it. It was stupid, i had the money to pay for those things too, but i just wanted to get things the 'cool' way.
- I'd never even dream of shoplifting now, i can't even believe i used to - don't anybody think of doing it! no matter what your opinion is on it!

that's the thing though... you never know when your going to get caught, it's wrong to shoplift. And if you think about it other people have to pay for what you steal!

It doesn't occur to me to shoplift. The concept of 'for free' is not in my dictionary. Life teaches you that soon enough. If you got sticky fingers, the price you can pay can be way bigger than that of the item.

Like many of these problematic habits, shoplifters begin with little things for the thrill of it, and it eventually becomes an addiction or ritual. Those that shoplife do it more often because of the concept (being cool) rather than the financial savings. The latter is probably just an advantage to the side.

That said, nowadays the big stores have made it easy to walk out with things not your own by mistake, finding yourself in a dilemma as to what to do. I once found a large pack of batteries in my carriage. I could have returned it to the store. It seemed right. I left it in the carriage and went my way. Then again, had I taken it home at least someone would benefit :P

Shoplifting is one of those wrongdoings that don't just destruct yourself (like drugs or alcohol) but take from others. Not something anyone wants to look into.

I have to admit that in college I probably shoplifted more than $2000 dollars worth of merchandise from the grocery store where I worked.

Also, those drunken evenings at the local convenience store. Man, that was back when they kept smokes on the counter. I remember stuffing girly mags down my pants.

One time, we were out of beer and dirt poor. I jokingly told a roommate to grab a 12-pack and just walk out the door. I'm at the counter and sure enough I see him out of the corner of my eye just trotting out the door (12er in hand) with his head held high.

Do I feel bad about it? No. With the grocery store (at the time) I justified it by telling myself that I was subsidising my paltry paycheck. Yes, I know . . . find another job. Which I eventually did.

The convenience store theft can be chalked up to "youthful indiscretions". I would never shoplift now. Well, unless the economy got so bad I could not afford to provide food for myself. But, even as bad as it will get, I have a decent job . . . and am much smarter than I was back in the shoplifting daze. I could live off of beans and rice . . . throw in a few veggies and fruit every now and then and all I'd have to worry about is getting my food stolen on the way back from the store.

It is going to get bad folks.

I would never think about shop lifting. You need to earn what you want to buy by making money. Not by sneeking it without getting caught. Don't ever shop lift, that was a stupid question. I'm sure there are people in the world who need what people shoplift more than the only people who took it! Always remember that, and don't ever shoplift. Usually people do it because they are bad and depressed or think it is fun. they just want to make trouble.

I have a few times as a kid
I think it was jewelry Cd's and clothes
No I never got caught
I don't steal at all now
I did it because we were poor and I wanted to have nice stuff
I don't do it now because I can afford to buy stuff

Although I have a friend who is a kleptomaniac. She'll steal anything and everything. Even from her family/friends. She doesn't realize she's stealing ... I'd say she does it on a weekly basis.

I haven't shop lifted before because i don't mind paying for stuff... >.> If you get caught shop lifting, it'll stay on your perm record. The parole officer can make you do weird things, its kind of like a punishment. They can make you tell your parents, do community service, make you have a meeting with the store managers and lot's of other fun things. Shop lifting is against the law so yeah i just don't do it... Also, you can go to juvie or to jail for it!

As a child I stole things like candy bars and gum--basically just to see if I could get away with it.

Things are tight right now, but I'd prefer not to go to prison for picking up a few things I'd like to have (or even need to have).

when i was 5 years old i ook a cute little purse filled with cosmetics and hide it under my skirt,at home when my mom dicovers it,hi me and tell me to never do that again,15 years later at my 20's i ve seen a little cute lip gloss but it was vey expensive, so i took it, and believe me its very addictive, 2 days later i return and took a little wallet, then i shoplift a bra and thong, and eyeshadow, later i stop because i feel that in the store they were looking at me weird, and stop it.
