I say jay-z bcuz of his 2 classic albums and other solid albums, longejvity, popularity, influence, and all the other ish that is making him money.

I think it would be 2pac. To the guy who said that it was because he was killed, I say that 2pac was a legend even before he died. He had lots of albums and great songs. If he was the greatest ever... well that depends. For me he will always be the best!

He's a legend!

As for Jay-Z, I started disliking him at the moment he started singing with Rihanna and Beyonce...

KRS-1, he might not have the riches of Jay Z or I might be wrong cause he don't feel he needs to reveal his money for people to like him but he is like a hip hop version of Malcolm X or Dr. King. He provides you with knowledge and wisdom of the game and to keep some of these wack mc's in line.

Jay-Z b-cus is a livin legend (and has 3 classics, The Black Album diserve 5 Mics).

But 2Pac was killed, so, like Cobain, Lennon, Elvis...is now a legend

well if we're talkin about most "legendary" rapper, than thats Tupac hands down.. he's one of the biggest (if not the biggest) legend in music period, he may not be the greatest rapper ever, but this question is asking about legendary status...not skills on the mic
