The sex of the baby depends on the chromosomes of the male sperm. When you have sex makes no difference on the baby.

And to clear up any confusion... The man's sperm does determine the gender. But it is believed by scientists that the female sperm swim more slowly and live longer and male sperm swim faster and die sooner... which is why some people think that you can only get a girl if you have sex several days before ovulation rather than right when you are ovulating. (It is thought that the male sperm will die out before reaching the egg).
But, this is certainly no guarantee. You can still get pregnant with a girl if you have sex right before or during ovulation, or with a boy if you have sex several days prior to ovulation.

YES of course! are you going by the shettles method? i've read it and alot of other sex determining things online. I would be happy with a boy or a girl for baby #2 but it's still interesting to read about.
www.ingender.com has alot of stuff on it and there is a place there too that has alot of survey's done by people who have tried. it looks to be it is ALWAYS 50/50 with the results. it shows what days people tried on and what the results were. there were alot of people who had sex on the day of and day before ovulation who have had girls.
with our son we had sex 5 days before ovulation without trying it just worked that way.
the best way to get pregnant is to have sex every other day and have the guy stay in you for maybe a minute before he pulls out and you should stay laying on your back with your hips elevated for at least 5 minutes but 20 minutes is better.

Nice thumbs down, whichever moron who did that...uh, sex = baby. Baby will be boy or girl. Therefore, sex on the day before and day of ovulation can be a girl...it also can be a boy. People on here are nuts.

Having sex a different time doesn't change the sperm.
