I was once told to be careful, that someone might be just intelligent enough to pull the trigger...and then he ran me out of town, after threatening to beat me with a hammer. At that point, I could've knocked his teeth right out of his head. I had the advantage on him in every way: age, size, strength, eyesight, physical shape, agility, and speed. Instead, I called the boss and asked him what he wanted me to do, and did as he requested. He had me move to where the main office is located.
But now, I'm making more money than my assailant...still in the same company, but working in a different city. And he's been complaining about not getting enough work...gosh, that's just too bad!....
So which is the intimidated, and which is the intelligent?
To me, mercy has no enemies...and mercy is true intelligence.

Yeah, sometimes. Intellegence is a wonderful thing to have in life, everybody has some sort of it. I get intimidated by my friends when they get a good grade on a test and ask me what I got. It really depends who you are. Some people don't care about it all that much and intellegence is some people's lives!

It can if the person is worried that they will look like an idiot in front of them or feel they aren't good enough.
However, intelligence can also equal open mindedness (is that a word?) and a higher understanding of things. So this can be preferable over someone else.

It can to some, they might feel intimidated because they think they don't "add up" to them.
Then again some don't, because they don't give a f*** bout there intelligence & they'll just beat 'em up! lol

I definately think that intelligence intimidates people. In my freshman year of college, I actually told another girl that I was intimidated by her because she knew so much about English Literature. She was always able to provide more critical analysis than anyone else in our classes. The professor was friends with her outside of class as well, so he seemed to rely on her to provide alot of discussion in class because alot of other students were overwhelmed by the reading material and having to form critical opinions of the text. After my freshman year, I had classes with her for several more semesters but I never felt intimidated by her again. I quickly realized that even though she had alot of knowledge, she also seemed very arrogant and that turned me off to her as a person. Alot of people who are very intelligent in certain aspects tend to be arrogant because they know that other people know how intelligent they are, so they feed of of that and it became apparent to me that this girl was like that. There are people who are very intelligent who don't boast or try to show up other people. These are the kinds of people that I like and respect. They know what they know but they remain humble about it and willing to share with others without making a big deal out of how much they know.

Yes. You can generally tell when people are intimidated by intelligence as they will begin to reel off as many profanities as they can remember in order to seem more of a threat to you.
...F*cking c*nts :P

Yes, it does with some people. Some people feel less around an intelligent person and they would stay away from them or put them down.

Intellingence may intimidate people. Sometimes when I see things that happen in the world that are clearly wrong (but no one else can see them) intimidates me...

definitely. esp in terms of keeping up a conversation, and intelligent ppl might give off the impression that they only care about deep/important/worldly things and be labelled 'boring', which is so not true!
plus, they have more wit so sarcastic jokes don't always come off as a joke but more of an insult.
